Dr. Salinas developed a special interest in voice disorders, as he had a deep rooted interest in the care of the professional voice, which stemmed from his experience as a musician and the fact that his mother was a professional singer in Perú. Hence, as a medical student at UCLA, he began a close mentorship with world-class laryngologists & voice specialists, Drs. Gerald Berke and Dinesh Chhetri. Thus, he remained in Los Angeles to complete his surgical residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, at the prestigious Department of Head and Neck Surgery at the Ronald Reagan – UCLA Medical Center. Subsequently, he was selected to complete a Laryngology Fellowship at UCLA, where he further honed his skills in the comprehensive management of voice, airway and swallowing disorders.
